Searching for photography workshops near me?
Look at our weekend residential photography workshops, which take place outdoors throughout the year in great UK locations. Each workshop is carefully planned to give you the best chances to learn, improve your skills, and create stunning images.
1. Practical On-Location Tuition
Workshops provide hands-on, practical tuition in real-life conditions. You will learn how to navigate various lighting and weather scenarios, compose compelling shots, and overcome challenges specific to landscape photography. With personalised one-on-one guidance, you can receive tailored instruction based on your level of expertise and individual goals.
2. Immersive Learning Experience
By joining a workshop, you'll benefit from an immersive learning experience beyond technical instruction. You'll be part of a community of fellow photographers, sharing insights, ideas, and creative inspiration. The collaborative environment fosters growth, and the camaraderie among participants adds an element of joy and shared enthusiasm to the learning process.
3. Expert Guidance and Feedback
Photography workshops are led by an experienced professional who has honed their craft over 20 years of practice. He offers valuable insights, tips, and techniques to elevate your photography skills. He provides personalised feedback and critique sessions, helping you refine your compositions, master camera settings, and develop your unique photographic style.
4. Well-Planned Itineraries
Workshops include well-researched itineraries that maximise your time at each location. Alan carefully selects the most picturesque spots and ensures that you have ample opportunities to capture stunning images. You'll be guided through the best times and locations for optimal lighting conditions and unforgettable photographic experiences from sunrise to sunset.
5. Networking and Inspiration
Joining a workshop allows you to connect with fellow photographers who share your passion and enthusiasm. The opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and collaborate can be invaluable in expanding your creative horizons. The supportive environment nurtures personal and professional growth, fostering lifelong friendships and inspiring new artistic perspectives.
You will be emailed the precise meeting point 4-7 days before the workshop with recommended equipment to bring. However, the event listing will have a generic list of items that apply to most workshops. You are responsible for travelling to and from the meet and greet point.
All workshops are run personally by Alan Ranger. Alan has over ten years of professional photography teaching experience and will work with participants on a 1-2-1 basis throughout the workshop. Participants are welcome and supported with whatever level and experience they are.
If workshop timings and logistics don’t allow for end of day image reviews, a post-workshop image review webinar will be arranged via a Zoom meeting.
Most residential workshops are restricted to four clients and sometimes fewer to ensure that each participant receives the support/tuition/attention they expect and to enable travel in one car.
Places will be marked as sold out if applicable; otherwise, please book through the website. If you want to spread the cost of your purchase, I offer an interest-free 12-month payment plan. All workshops are also available as a gift voucher for that special occasion, purchase the voucher and leave the rest to us.
All rooms are single occupancy without a supplement with ensuite or personal bathroom.
Double occupancy is available on request.
Hotels & B&Bs are tried and tested in most locations and meet 3-5 star standards.
Where applicable we will eat at the hotel we stay in to reduce travel and increase relaxation time. Where we need/want to eat away from hotel restaurants are pre-booked.
