Hello — I’m Alan. I’ve been making photographs for over 25 years, and a professional photographer and tutor for more than 15 — teaching everyone from first-time camera owners to photographers earning their RPS distinctions. I came to it the long way round, after two decades in business — which is probably why I care less about gear and more about helping you actually see.
I’m BIPP-qualified (ABIPP) and an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) — but the letters matter less than whether you leave a session making better pictures and understanding why.
And then there’s Oscar, my cat and self-appointed studio supervisor. He contributes very little and takes most of the credit. Honestly, he usually wins the popularity contest too.
